Okay, so I got Jess #3 in the mail today and she is lovely, but the minute I pulled her out I noticed a sort of snag on her shoulder. The fabric is a weave and one of the strands has broken, so my question to you is...would you keep the fat chested doll (which is just bigger even with stuffing taken out), or keep the pretty body with the broken weave strand? Thanks gals, I love that I can count on you for good opinions.

I wouldn't settle for anything less than perfect. It took 3 Nellie's before we kept one. It just took 2 AGOT-4 before we kept one and I asked them to hand pick her with my specifications. If you tell customer service about your problems they usually offer to help in this manner.

Honestly, I think you should call CS and let them know this last doll has the broken thread!

If you pull the stuffing out of the first doll will she stand right? Is the fabric stretched out. Seams being stressed to come apart in the future. I really don't think you should keep either and call tell them to send another or just send them both back and call a PS, let one of them pick one out for you! And let the PS know what you have already received.

CS supposedly picked the last two! This one is lovely except she has that broken thread and I called CS and they said that they would note it so if it became a problem in the future it would be listed. The first one they "picked out" for me had messy disaster hair, and she had this spot on her arm. So now I've had 3 Jess's at my house, none of which I am completly satisfied with, and I'm just worried about calling them up and having them send #4 out!!! There will come a point I'm sure where the shipping they are paying is going to equal the amount I payed to buy the doll. I'm thinking that I will keep the one with the snag, because that is less noticable than a too poofy body (and she does sink funny when I pull a bunch out, I think that her body itself is just big). Would you call and get a #4 sent to you, or just hope that if the broken thread becomes a problem that CS will handle it free of charge? Thanks

These doll should be checked before place in the box and shipped from the factory. I guess that's what you get when you have people working more then 8 hours a day and 6 or more days in a roll before a day off. And have them live in the factory housing (usually one room) charging rent which takes most of there pay check.

The dolls are checked in the factory- someone looks at them before they are boxed. But they can't look at every inch of every doll.

I think you should call CS and get as many new dolls as you want, but so far I would have only returned the doll with the little gray hole in her arm- if I noticed her before I got attached.

You have to remember, while these are high quality dolls, they are made for children, NOT collectors. So there are going to be imperfections on many of them. They will withstand years and years of hard play, but they weren't made to withstand the scrutiny of a perfectionist collector.

I hope you find a Jess that makes you happy.

    Good luck.

I would definitely contact customer service again and explain what has happened and ask them to send another doll. Tell them of your concerns and that you are a loyal customer and have not had this happen before, therefore your disappointment about these dolls. Ask if there is any way to assure the next doll is in better condition than the previous 3. Ask if a personal shopper at one of the stores may be able to pick one out and have the shipping charges waved. ASK!ASK! ASK! Some customer service agents are much more helpful than others so if you have not gotten an answer that is satisfactory, call back and try another. This department is usually excellent. Good Luck.

I think I'll keep the one with the little snag in her shoulder. I just really don't like the body of the first one they sent (she is just so big in the shoulders). I think I'm going to call CS and just make sure that I won't have any out of pocket expense if the snag becomes a hole, or if I ever decide to sell her and need it fixed. The CS I talked to last night did say that they do keep parts around even after a LE doll has ended her run so that it shouldn't be a problem if it needs to be replaced down the line, but she didn't tell me that it would be free of charge.
